Why Burning Epic?

Well, that's a funny story. For those of you who haven't heart it I'll explain.  For those of you that know part of it forgive me while I catch everyone up.  For those of you that already know it... why the hell are you reading this? I'll just be repeating myself!

The initial plan was for Keelie Mason, our pyrokinetic lycan, to begin this series.  She'll be the protagonist for the next book, tentatively titled Burning Angel.  I have the rough draft for her first book and the second one (Burning Agony) and a title and a few chapters in her third story (Burning Redemption).

Sensing a pattern here?

Anyway, I finished Keelie's first book and began to submit it to agencies. But a funny thing happened while I was waiting for rejection letters.  I started working on Jax Deacon's point of view. As I worked on Cracker Jack, I realized something: he needs to go first.  I can tell the story better if we warm up with Jax and Blood on the Sidewalk then jump to Keelie and Burning Angel.

So that's what I did/am doing. But I liked the idea of calling the entire thing the Burning Epic series so I left it. I'm sure someone down the road will come up with something more snazzy but for now we're Burning Epic.

Why the blog? Another good question. Simply put I wanted to get the word out. I wanted those of you that wanted to follow the exploits of Keelie and Jax (and the other voices in my head floating around) a place to do so.

What will I put here? All kinds of stuff. The plan is post things from Keelie and Jax's point of view.  There will be excerpts, clips from their life before the series began, funny shit they see on the internet, book reviews, and other goodies to give you a glimpse into the world spinning around inside my skull.

You'll also get a little insight into the writing process from my point of view. All the good shit the non-writer doesn't hear about- the query process, writer's block, etc.

Want to be a part of it all? We can make that happen to.  The comment section is always open. So is my email.  If you have an idea, a book you'd like me to read, a rant about something, a suggestion, or a question throw it up there.

**Please Note: Trolls will be dealt with harshly.**

So this is Burning Epic. Tell your friends. Bookmark. But most of all hang on.  I'm sure it's going to be a hell of a ride.

Ready?  Great, let's get started.

Carry on...
